Remembering John “Nick” Nicholas Bird

John “Nick” Nicholas Bird, age 32, of Grand Rapids passed away unexpectedly into the arms of his loving Savior on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was the third son of Kim and Patricia Bird. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ken and Ann Bird and George P. Vollema. He will be sadly missed by his ten siblings, Jason, Corey and Laurie, Wes and Renee, Adam, Josh and Jessica, Tricialyn, Micah, Irina, Kristina and Alina Bird; nephew and nieces whom he adored, Dylan, Alyssa, Madelyn and Saige; grandmother, Donna Vollema who was dear to him; many aunts, uncles and cousins; also his dog, Hatch, who will miss him greatly. Nick graduated in 2001 from Grandville High School. He loved playing soccer, fishing and being with family, friends and his Lord Jesus. Please join the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Thursday from 12-1 pm at the church prior to the service. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 1:00 pm at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville with Rev. Bud Pratt and Pastor Brett Werner officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery.   Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Nick’s memory to First Reformed Church Youth Center Building.
