John and Ruth Link, of Grandville, went to their heavenly home and were received into the loving arms of their faithful Savior within the same week. John, formerly of Minnesota, was a respected drywaller in the Grand Rapids area for many years. He was actively involved in sports for his girls and grandsons and an avid sports fan. Ruth graduated from Blodgett Hospital’s Nursing School and worked there as a nurse for many years. John and Ruth loved serving their Lord and his people through their church and Bible Study Fellowship. They will be lovingly remembered by their children, Kristy and Rick Lobbes, Lisa and Jon Jipping; grandchildren, Peter and April Lobbes, Patrick Lobbes, Eric and Megan Jipping, Daniel and Kaley Jipping; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Ruth Jipping; John’s brothers and sisters, Gerrit Link, Betty Roelofs, Ben Link, Fred Link; Ruth’s sisters, Mary Regts, Edna Snoeyink; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett St. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, October 16, from 3-6 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to BSF International or Faith Hospice.
