I was deeply saddened by the news of John’s death. He was a dear friend who spent many hours with me, guiding me through running my practice over 25 years. I could never have done it without him. It was a treat to just talk. There were other hours on the tennis courts too. My thoughts are with the family, especially Carole, at this time of great loss. JRVYDARENY

I have fond memories of John sitting at our kitchen table to go over our income tax papers and information. He was always interested, caring, and downright jolly. He was a joy to know. My deepest sympathy to you all.

Carole, I recall having such interesting conversations with John at the Calvin library where I volunteered at the reference desk. He often stopped by to chat after finding more reading materials in the college library. He was a man of depth and learning. I learned from him. I will pray that the peace of our Savior, Christ Jesus will be with you as we miss John.
