John K. Wierenga

WIERENGA - John Kenneth Wierenga, age 86, of West Olive, passed into eternal life in Christ, on Thursday, April 9, 2015. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara and her parents, Robert and Teressa Jolman; his parents, the Reverend Herman and Ida Wierenga; brother, Herman; sisters, Carolyn and Joan. He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Thomas) Heard, Doug (Dion) Wierenga, Kevin Wierenga, Todd (Bonnie) Wierenga; his grandchildren, Brooke (Phil) Visser, Julia Heard, Natalie (Travis) Mattson, Lauren Wierenga, Steven Wierenga and Audrey Wierenga; his sister, Eleanor Wierenga Glass; brother, Gerard (Vonnie) Wierenga; sisters-in-law, Jeanine (Bill) Holman and Sandra Parker; many nephews, nieces and their families and many friends. A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, at the Porter Hills Village Meeting House, 3600 Fulton St., Grand Rapids, MI 49546, with the Reverend Thomas Heard presiding.
