Zaagsma, John Joseph John Joseph. Zaagsma, age 52, of Kentwood went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 13, 2014.  He is survived by his wife, Laura (Truszkowski), his children, Sean, Theresa (Matthew) Short, Joshua; granddaughter, Riley; parents, Jerianne Zaagsma and William Zaagsma; mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Charlene Truszkowski; brothers and sisters, Melanie (Tom) Smith, Kathleen (James) Fizer, Pamela Kidder, grandmother, Angela Clapp; several aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. John was an avid University of Michigan football fan, hunter and fisherman. You could also find him wandering antique shops along the way.  He was a long time employee of Ritsema Associates.  John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle.  He will be dearly missed by his entire family.  Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 17 at 11am at St. John Vianney Church. 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Fr. Mike Alber officiating. Interment  St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service at church, and  Friday  from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming) 4031 Clyde Park SW.  Rosary to be held at 7:30 pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, or needs of the family.
