John Isler

John Clinton Isler, age 74, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 12, 2022. John was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who dearly loved his family. He was a kind and compassionate man who always put others’ needs before his. John proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Barbara Isler; and brother, Burt Isler. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Patty Isler; children, Amy and Tom Strating, Todd and Amber Isler; grandchildren, Paul, Cole, Mason, and Mackenzie; brothers, Jim and Nancy Isler, Jerry and Linda Isler; aunt, Ruth Peek; sister-in-law, Penny and Marc Larabel; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration service with the opportunity for sharing and remembering will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
