John Hoelsema Jr.

John Jerry Hoelsema Jr., age 67, of Allendale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Joan Hoelsema; sister, Annette Hoelsema; brothers-in-law, Jim Anton, and Jerry Koeman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Karen; sons, Jason Hoelsema, Jeremy and Frances Hoelsema; grandsons, Deacon Hoelsema, Asher Hoelsema; sisters and brother, Vicki and Ed Shattuck, Marianne Anton, Terry and RuthAnn Hoelsema, Joni and Lee Hiler, Anne and Kris Brandt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth Koeman, Paul and Jan Schilthuis, Gloria and Bill VanHaitsma, Nancy and Sal Padilla, Donna and Fred DeGraaf; many nieces and nephews. John loved life and family. He enjoyed winter sports especially when he was with his family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 6651 Scott St., Allendale, with Rev. Steve Demers officiating. The burial will be held at West Drenthe Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, January 18, from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
