John Herman DeVries

John Herman DeVries, age 84, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 13, 2014.  He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Kari DeVries and Timothy DeVries; brothers, Gerald, Ted, and Jim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peter and Josie Koole, George Lanting, Gertie Lanting, and Peter and Alice Knott.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanette; children, Herm and Lorraine DeVries, Don and Shelly DeVries, Ruth and Bryant Cox, Tom and Brenda DeVries, Mike DeVries; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren;brothers, Martin and Emma DeVries, Don and Hilda DeVries, Frank and Marie DeVries, Hank and Barb DeVries, Morrie and Arlene DeVries; sisters-in-law, Pat DeVries, Shirley DeVries, Sue DeVries, Wilhemina Lanting. Funeral services will be held on Friday 11 am at Hope Protestant Reformed Church, 1580 Ferndale SW, Grand Rapids, with Rev. David Overway officiating.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School.
