John Herman Batts, child of God, died on Monday, April 20, 2015. He was born in Detroit in 1922. John was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Eppinga; brothers, Martin and Rev. Jerome Batts; brothers-in-law, Rev. Jacob Eppinga, Dr. Fred Brouwer; sisters-in-law, Jean and Marge Batts. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; his children, Karen (Rev. Paul) Treick, Mary (Kurt) Staal, Nancy (James) Kwasteniet, Jean Batts, Helene (Mark) Bardolph, John (Brenda) Batts; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Batts; sister, Helene (Stuart) Eppinga; sisters-in-law, Arlyn Batts, Marilyn (Elmer) Lokers, Helen Brouwer; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday 1:00 pm at Sunset Manor Chapel, 725 Baldwin, Jenison, with Rev. Paul Treick and Rev. Jim Evenhouse officiating. Private military interment Fort Custer National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 12-1 pm at Sunset Manor Chapel prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to World Renew (CRWRC).

i DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT SOMEONE WHO I KNEW FROM 1967. THATS QUITE A STATEMENT. i MOURN JOHNS PASSING AND CELEBRATE THIS WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN MANS LIFE OF SERVICE TO HIS SAVIOUR AND HIS FAMILY.
