John Gunder

John Gunder, 65, of Battle Creek, MI passed away December 24, 2018 after a brief illness.  He was born June 23, 1953 to John and Theresa Gunder in Spokane WA.

He worked at Harvard Industries for 27 years. He was a truck driver for 9 years before retiring in 2015.

John was loved by his beloved “Honey” Kathy and family and many friends. One of John’s biggest passion was riding his motorcycle all over the United States. John served as a Road Captain planning routes for adventures, and also served as a charities officer for the local Harley Owners group for several years.  Those who knew John knew he never got LOST, it was just the scenic route. He also enjoyed watching Nascar and feeding and watching the birds. He was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining with his family and good friends sharing stories and good food.

John was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother Anthony Gunder. He is survived by his long time love Kathy Eakins, his three brothers Kevin, Michael, and Paul Gunder, his 3 sisters Lynn Honora Sullivan, Kristine West, and Colleen Oliver. Would also like to mention he was a special person in the lives of Kathy’s children Kimberly (Rob) Youmans and Michael (Chrissy) Eakins, and her grandchildren that were his own too, Donovan Eakins, Cierra (Cody) Landon, Levi Youmans, and Haley Johnson. He has a long list of good friends that will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life was held on December 30, 2018.
