John Eisenga

John Daniel Eisenga, age 63, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Gertrude Eisenga.  He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Bernard (Mary Beth), Henry (Ila Mae), Helen (Eric) Hansen, Mary Kay (John) Petersen, Linda (Mike) Carlson, many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank the caregivers and residents at Elmhurst Home for the loving care they provided for John.  He was a special needs person with an incredible vocabulary and a love of reading.  During an outing John was able to slip away and meet Grand Rapids Mayor Lyman Parks.  John wanted to be a preacher or broadcaster and was able to fulfill his dream when he was asked to say the Morning Prayer at Hope Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7 at 10 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Interment Graceland Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
