John Edward “Ed” Blake, age 91, of Wyoming, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, September 13, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Blake; and his only sister, Evelyn Tetro.  He will be dearly missed by his children, Greg (Caroline) Blake, Jeff (Carol) Blake, Sue (Dan) Vander Markt, Rich Blake, Beth (Mike) Abraham, Tim (Tami) Blake; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William (Norma) Tetro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Ed proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He worked for 37 years at GM and then enjoyed 35 years of retirement spending his time, traveling, golfing and with his family. Ed also enjoyed supporting Grandville sports and was a founding member of the Grandville Boosters. Per his wishes, Ed has donated his body for anatomical study at Michigan State University. The family is planning a private ceremony to celebrate his life and would like to thank everyone for reaching out with their thoughts and prayers.
