John Douglas “Jack” Vander Ark

John Douglas “Jack” Vander Ark, born January 14, 1930, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 2010. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, John D. “Chip” and Sally Vander Ark, Kimberly and Mark Bergren, Melanie and Dana Dawe; 16 grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah Bergren, Jonathan and Christine Dawe, Rebecca and Tony Buti, Justin and Emily Vander Ark, Joshua and Claire Bergren, Rachel and Jeremy Landers, Timothy and Jeannine Dawe, Seth and Shannin Vander Ark, Isaac and Beth Vander Ark, Abigail and Alan Shepard, Micah and Alexa Bergren, Caleb and Emily Vander Ark, Hannah and Chris Peters, Matthew and McKenzie Dawe, Kathryn Vander Ark, Sarah and Irian Hernandez; 34 great grandchildren, Lucy, Elise, Jack, Margaret, Henry, Fisher, Ellis, Charlotte, Florence, Gemma, Shire, Kamilah, Matthew, Jonah, Isaiah, Charlie, Gideon, Ava, Jadon, Judah, Kenan, Wesley, Sean, James, Victoria, Kairi, Lexi, Natalie, Arthur, Callie, Ryker, Ulysses, Audrey, Vincent, and three on the way. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Monday, August 24, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Lyle Raven officiating.  Burial Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-3 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Due to gathering restrictions, there will be a limit on the number of people who may enter the building at a time. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to To Every Tribe Ministries or to Wycliffe Bible Translators.
