Johannes “John” De Boode, age 65, of Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. He retired from Spartan Stores. John’s passion was collecting antique bottles. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda De Boode; children and grandchildren, Jennifer and Tim Van Amburgh (Bailey, Brayden), Justin and Nicole De Boode (Willem, Nelleka), Lindsey and Garrett Jonker (Ayla, Henley), Eric and Tara Van Dyke (Carter, Sawyer), Brent Van Dyke and Mandy Tithof (Camryn, Mason, Easton); brothers and sisters, Bill and Phyllis De Boode, Marge Koster, Wilma Quist, Paul and Sue De Boode, Adrian and Bonnie De Boode, Rachel and Randy Van Dyke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Mamie Mott; brother-in-law, Tom and Kelly Mott; sister-in-law, Helen Mott. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. John, this is so hard to say goodbye. I had the best 16 years living next to you and linda, you guys meant so much to me, I knew if I needed anything you were there for me just as I was there for you. I will dearly miss you my friend.
