Johanna “Ann” H. (Nieuwenhuis) Van Der Wall, age 95, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018 and went to be with her Lord. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Augie Van Der Wall; children, Renee and Ray Griffen, Fred and Kathy Van Der Wall, Rick and Jonell Van Der Wall; grandchildren, Rob Vander Hart, Aaron and Christa Van Der Wall, Chad and Amanda Van Der Wall, Jonathon and Bethany Van Der Wall, Eric and Kristeen Van Der Wall; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Gerri Pipping; and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Rick Van Der Wall, Pastor Jonathon Van Der Wall, and Pastor Eric Van Der Wall officiating. Interment will be held at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.

My condolences and love to the family. I have fond childhood memories of Ann and Augies’ kindness and warmth as hosts when our family visited for a weekend during the summer. The pool time and bowls of blueberries were also much enjoyed. Sharing your sorrow and celebrating your joy that Ann is in heaven.
