Joel Robert De Groot, age 51, formerly of Grand Rapids, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Jeffry De Groot, and daughter, Cassi and Mitch Overweg; his parents, Sam and Sharon De Groot; his brothers and their families, Jim and Julie De Groot (Megan and Matt Deaton, Zach and Emily De Groot, Matt De Groot and fiancée Sarah Craddock, Troy De Groot), Jerry and Michelle De Groot (Blake, Maddie, and Luke), Jason De Groot; many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. A private service will be held. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Calvin Christian Schools or a charity of one’s choice.
