Remembering Joaquin Martinez

Joaquin Martinez, aged 58, of Grand Rapids, was called home on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Joaquin is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sheila; children: Sabrina (James) Ervin, Erika Martinez, Diana (Bryce) Patterson, Joaquin Martinez III Eric Martinez; 3 grandchildren: Riley, Gaby and Anna Ervin; father: A.C. Martinez, 1 brother and 3 sisters as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Martinez. He was a loving husband and father who worked at General Motors for 38 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming) 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Thursday, October 23, 2014. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

Jack will be missed thats for sure, he had a way of making everyone love him. Jack you were one of my bestfriends. We talked all the time. Who will I share all my problems with I sure will miss hearing about your kids and your grand child, you loved talking about them. Today is a very sad day for me. I am so sad to hear of this loss. I want Joaquin's family to know that I had met him at work and he was always very kind and offering a prayer.
