Remembering Joanne C. Mennes

Joanne C. Mennes, age 75, of Allendale, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Sumner. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Bob; children, Glenn Mennes, Bobby and Pam Mennes, Mike and Amy Mennes, Laura Mennes; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018, Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale), 6651 Scott Street, with Pastor Brian Jones officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Michigan 4-H Foundation – Ottawa County.

Dear Bob and family, Words cannot express how sorry I am for the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Joanne sure was a great wife, mom, Grandma and Great Grandma! She loved her kids and grandkids! I will always remember Joanne for her work ethic, her love for animals and her caring ways for others. She sure was an awesome daughter, too!!! She will always be remembered!!! Please take comfort in knowing Joanne is now with her mom, Ethel. May God give you strength to get through these difficult days. Prayers and hugs....

To the whole family, You have our sincere sympathies in the death of Joanne. When my sister, Debi and I were small she would sacrifice her Saturdays to load up our horses and haul them to the fairs for us. She was a great blessing to many people. Always thinking of others.
