JoAnn Potgeter

JoAnn Potgeter, age 83, of Allendale, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, September 22, 2023. JoAnn was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who dearly loved her family. JoAnn loved music, and one of the highlights of the year was attending the annual performance of the Nutcracker with her family. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard tending to her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed animals and nature, watching many birds come to her feeder, and taking care of her cats. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willis “Bill”, and her brother, Don Rebentisch. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pamela (Linda Burton) Potgeter, Willis (Denise) Potgeter, Jr., granddaughter, Maria Jo; sisters, Ruth Hastings and Ellen (Greg) Denny; brother-in-law, Ken Potgeter; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. with Rev. Ron Lugten officiating. Burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faithful to Felines, a local rescue to find cats their forever homes.
