Joann K. Warners-Change in Venue

Joann K. Warners, age 72, of Grand Rapids, went home to glory to be with her loving, faithful Savior on Monday, March 2, 2020.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anne Warners, and her brother, Will.  She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Carol Warners; sister-in-law, Maya Warners; several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  Joann loved the Lord Jesus and desired to live her life out in service to Him.  She taught piano for many years and played organ for various churches.  Joann worked for Our Daily Bread Ministries for 20 years and loved answering phones as a ministry service representative.  She was a member of Oakdale Park CRC and used her musical gifts there for many years as well as participating in many outreach ministries.  She especially loved serving in the jail with Forgotten Man Ministries and volunteering at Mercy Health St. Mary’s.  Her favorite saying was “onward and upward” by which she encouraged many to press on in their walk with Christ, to go onward and upward in His strength.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Pastor James Jones officiating.  Burial Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from noon to 1:45 pm prior to the memorial service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Our Daily Bread Ministries or Forgotten Man Ministries.

Joann was a wonderful lady with lots of love for everyone. She had a great concept of love and trust everyone beyond boundaries. The bondage she created with my family during a short stay in same apartment complex is eternally unbreakable. We are shocked and sad with her untimely death.

Joanne was a wonderful roommate with me from 1983-1985. Her love for the Lord was constantly evident. I loved listening to her practice the piano; she played the organ at my wedding. I'm so glad she is singing praises to the Lord in heaven and is free from the shackles of this world.

Joann was a true friend. She easily shared her love of Christ and accepted everyone where they were at the moment, but expected them to grow. She knew how to keep friendships with all of us far away.

Joann was a wonderful person at Lacks Cancer Center with her god given talent playing the Piano and sharing her blessings. We will all miss her!

Joann's person was a testimony to the Spirit of Jesus bubbling up from a daughter who loved and trusted Him with her whole heart. We are so thankful to have known her and pray for comfort for all those who will miss her dearly.
