JoAnn Huyser

JoAnn Mattie (Pausinga) Huyser, age 91, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose gentle faith touched the lives of many. Her friendships spanned a lifetime, and she was a steadfast friend to all who knew her. She cherished traveling with her dear family and friends, creating lasting memories along the way. One of her greatest joys was spending time with loved ones over shared meals. JoAnn had a deep interest in family genealogy, preserving the stories of her heritage for future generations. She also took great joy in hearing about the lives and milestones of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald Huyser; and her stepbrothers, Herb and Anne Postma, Alfred Postma, Charles and Esther Postma, Earl and Lorraine Postma, Arnold and Marna Postma. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mark and Ellen Huyser, Ruth and Gordon Wiersema, Paul and Julie Huyser, Jim and Kristi Huyser; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, John and Marge Pausinga; sister-in-law, Marge Postma; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
