EMERICH (VELDING) - Mrs. JoAnn Emerich, aged 67, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. JoAnn was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central. For over 20 years, she worked for MotoPhoto, taking newborn photos at area hospitals. A devoted country music fan, JoAnn enjoyed traveling to attend concerts. Camping was another favorite way to spend time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and father, Donald Velding. Surviving are her daughter, Dawn Emerich; mother, Josephine Velding; sisters, Donna (John) Slagboom, Patricia (Don) Zoeller, Deborah (Felipe) Herrera, Bonnie Velding; brother, Donald (Kerry) Velding, Jr.; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 22 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 250 Brown SE, with Rev. Msgr. Ernest Schneider celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends Thursday 5 to 8 PM at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to Mass at church. Prayers of the rosary will be recited Thursday at the funeral chapel. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
