Joan Wind

Joan (Keyzer) Wind, age 90, of Allendale, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Joan was a kind, loving, and outgoing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was blessed with the gift of conversation. She had a determined independent spirit and could persevere through any challenge that came her way. She was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church in Allendale, using her musical gifts and talents in many ways. She sang in a quartet with her siblings for many years, blessing many with her beautiful alto voice. Above all, her love for her family and Jesus was evident to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank Wind. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pat and Doug Feringa, Deb Wind, Niter and Buzz Holtvluwer, Cheryl Wind, Harry and Sandy Wind, Lori and Kevin Splese; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 6651 Scott St., Allendale, with Pastor Tim Gauger officiating. The burial will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
