Joan Marita Ederer

Joan J. Ederer, age 88, of Grand Rapids, peacefully passed on Monday, October 24, 2022. Joan was a loving, caring mother to her five daughters. She loved to read and garden, and she was an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Catherine Joyce; daughter, Mary Ward; and her three siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Deborah Ederer, Susan Post, Colleen Laourdakis, Maureen (Steve) Weatherby; grandchildren, Christian Laourdakis, Victoria (Jarod) (Ward) Sokol, Rylee Weatherby, Nolan Weatherby; great-granddaughter Alexandra Rose Sokol, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service held at Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI at 11am on Friday, October 28 with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Pine Rest or the American Cancer Society.
