Joan Marie Roe, age 87, of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Joan was born to Edmund and Stella Richards on August 1, 1933, in Manistique, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Stella Richards; brothers, Laurence Richards, Donald Richards; sister, Donna Hamp; sister-in-law, Mary Post. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, James Roe; children, Edmund (Grace) Roe, Robert Roe, Steven Roe, William (Starlene) Roe; daughter Jaquline Ortega; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Joan was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on July 30, 2021, 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Kim DeLong officiating. Burial Remus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
