Joan Elizabeth Giaimo

Joan Giaimo, age 89, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Joan worked as a nurse in many places during her career and was the head nurse at Amway here in Michigan for 19 years. She later retired again from BioLife. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed crafting, gardening, and cooking many Lithuanian/Italian dishes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents, Frank and Betty Gedris. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Greg Giaimo, Steve Giaimo, Lisa (Cris) DeWolf, Jon Giaimo; grandchildren, Jared Giaimo, Hayley (Jacob) Warner, Caitlin DeWolf, Trevor DeWolf, Mikaela (Jere) Barrett, Noah DeWolf, Knightly Giaimo, Chilton Giaimo; great granddaughter, Suki Barrett; brother, Frank (Sandy) Gedris; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Joan will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to your local humane society.
