Remembering Joan Douma

Joan Marie Douma, age 78, of Grandville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 6, 2020. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Susan DeYoung, and Annette Ekkel; nephew, Chris DeYoung; nieces, Tami (Steve) Hibbitts, Pam (Lewie) Schaner, Ginger (Skip) Lockyear; great-nephews and great-nieces, Phoenix, Dalton, Wyatt, Laura, Megan, Allison, and Noah. Joan had a lifelong career at Keeler Brass, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. Due to the current health concerns regarding COVID-19, family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service on Friday, April 10, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Grandville Cemetery.

I wan to express my deepest sympathy to Joan's family. I remember Joan from Boulevard Elementary School. Although we ended up going to different schools long ago, I recognized her name immediately and want to express my condolences to you upon her passing.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I know she was well loved and cared for. I remember her talking of Dalton the most but always mentioned any new births in the family. She was a joyous women. She is now walking in heaven with no restraints.
