Joan Arlene Kuzee (Osbeck), age 86, of Allendale was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was passionate about caring for others. After graduating from nursing school in Chicago, she returned to Grand Rapids where she was a charge nurse at Butterworth Hospital. After raising her family, she returned to nursing as a hospice nurse. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mark and Sue Kuzee, Laurie and Doug Nederhood, Kristy and Scott Berens, Karl and Jan Kuzee, Steve and Lisa Kuzee, Amy Kuzee; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Beth and Karl Lundeen; brothers, Kent and Linda Osbeck, Blaine and Bonnie Osbeck; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale), 6651 Scott Street, with Rev. Bruce Persenaire officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to First Christian Reformed Church of Allendale.
