Jessie Curtis

CURTIS (nee Arnold) - Mrs. Jessie G. Curtis of Belmont was called home to Heaven on October 17, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born on March 21, 1931 in Sparta, MI. Jessie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Lawrence I. Curtis; parents, Ralph and Julia Arnold, brothers, Lyle and George; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Glen Thompson, Leo (Dorothy) Curtis, Helen (Tubby) Welmerink, Evelyn (Bill) Stellard, Marion (Marvin) Penland, Harold (Velma) Curtis, Carl (Thelma) Curtis and great granddaughter, Aisha Douglas. Jessie and her husband Lawrence met in Sparta and married on June 24, 1950 and settled and raised their family in Belmont, MI. She loved to bake in her spare time. Her home was always open to anyone who came to the door. It didn't matter if it was family, friends, or someone she just met, she immediately had something on the table, a meal, cookies, cake or a pie. She had a sense of humor even up to the end. She touched the hearts of many and was adored by so many. She is survived by her children, Juanita (Don) Besser, Theresa (Dan) Petersen, Larry (Geri) Curtis; grandchildren, Todd (Sarah) Kremers, Scott (Holly) Kremers, Melissa Curtis, Heather Curtis, Richard Drieband, Lisa Drieband; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Milton (Lois) Arnold, Thomas (Karen) Arnold; sisters, JoAnn Thompson, Connie (Harold) McCormick, Carol (Jim) O'Hara; sisters-in-law, Jean Arnold, Marilyn Arnold, several nieces and nephews. Our family would like to give a very special Thank You to the staff at Boulder Creek Assisted Living for their loving and tender care during her residency there. Also a special Thank You to Spectrum Hospice. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE. Her family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service and during a light luncheon following the service. Interment at Blythefield Memory Gardens.
