Jessica Marie Gilliam

Jessica Marie Gilliam, age 36, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018. She was born June 16, 1981 to Peg Wessels and adopted by Mike Wessels in 1986. She attended Unity Christian School where she graduated in 1999.  She went on several Serve trips and conventions while in high school. After graduation, she went to Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, and Grand Rapids Community College earning her LPN degree. Anyone who knew Jessi, also knew how much she loved caring for and serving people.  She was a committed nurse and dedicated to walking alongside people in the healthcare field as a visiting nurse.  Jessi married Jordan Gilliam, October 20, 2008, in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They had their son, Isaiah in 2009 and their daughter, Adelynn in 2012. Jessi loved doing things with her children and family. She loved to cook and entertain their friends.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Wessels and maternal grandfather, Robert Stuart. She is survived by her husband and children; parents, Mike and Peg Wessels; father-in-law, Willie Gilliam; mother-in-law, Diann Gilliam-Johnson; brother, Michael (Kate) Wessels of Fulton; sisters-in-law, Lynda (Paul) Marklevitz of Grand Rapids, Patricia (Brian) Patterson of North Carolina; grandmothers, Arlene Stuart and Marlene Wessels; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 7 pm at Mars Hill, (Grandville) 3501 Fairlanes Ave. SW.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the church prior to the service and also on Saturday, March 3 from 4-7 pm at Triple Play Bowling Alley in Fulton, IL.
