Jerry Noel Smeenge, age 76, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Savior and loved ones in heaven on Monday, September 14, 2015. He will be forever loved by his wife of 52 years, Delores D. Smeenge; his son, Joel (Donelle) Smeenge; daughters, LeaAnn (Todd) Ver Strate, Lisa (Jay) Nauta; sisters, Rochelle (Kenneth) Taylor, Anette (James) Evans; brother-in-law, William (Rhonda) Cobb; grandchildren, Kalee, Aren, Gabrielle, Isaac, Raquel, Priscilla, Stone and Samson; many nieces and nephews. Jerry will be lovingly remembered for his ability to make us all laugh, his colorful stories, his protectiveness of his family and loved ones, and his willingness to help others in need. He proudly served his country in the US Army. A memorial service will be held on Friday 11 am at Georgetown Christian Fellowship, 3668 Port Sheldon St., Hudsonville with Rev. Cal Bergsma officiating. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-9 pm at the church and on Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Teen Challenge.

Dee, our prayers are with you and your family. Although our time with you in Jacksonville was short, we enjoyed getting together. Jerry always brought laughter and fun wherever he went. So happy he is with his Savior and enjoying his new life!
