Jerry E. Herrema

Jerry E. Herrema, aged 83 of Grandville, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Lori Herrema; son, Thomas Herrema; infant baby girl ; a granddaughter, Amanda Ahrendt; and brother, Gordon Herrema. He is survived by his daughters, Marijo Ahrendt and Melissa Herrema; grandchildren, Joshua and Melissa Ahrendt, Joseph and Tonia Ahrendt, Michael and Lisa Ahrendt; great granddaughter, Bailey; great grandsons, Chase and Oliver; brothers, Robert and Virginia Herrema, Don and Sue Herrema; sister, Jan and Ken Slot; brother-in-law, George and Bev Eckhoff; sister-in-law, June Herrema; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018,  at 1pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Bud Pratt officiating. Inurnment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
