Remembering Jerrod William Osbun

Jerrod William Osbun, age 39, of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2022, as the result of a car accident. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marian Timmer. Jerrod will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dan and Linda Osbun; daughter, Lily Osbun; siblings, Jeremy and Kristie Osbun; Shannon Osbun, Jaylene Nostrandt, Kelly and Pete Cole; grandfather, Bill Timmer; several nieces and nephews; uncles and aunt, Dan and Nancy Boneburg, and Dan Timmer. Jerrod enjoyed both playing and watching basketball. He had a great sense of humor that will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in the Oneighty Room at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Ave SW, Grandville (please use entrance C or J) with Pastor Merle Bremer officiating.

Jerrod and I had our problems at the end of his life but I realize that it will never take away from the decades long friendship we shared…. From Lamar Park to the YMCA, our names will forever be linked to each other…. He was a brother and unfortunately sometimes brothers fight, you just always think that one day you’ll make up, sadly, I never had that chance…. My biggest regret is that I didn’t swallow my pride and make amens to my brother before this tragedy took his life…. If this has taught me anything it’s to cherish the time we have…. What Jerrod loved in me was the craziness that I bring to any situation, and ironically, that’s what caused us to drift apart…. I love you brother, and I always will…. I’ll see you one day

I met Jerrod while he was still in high school and some of the fondest times in my life was playing basketball with him and his friends (Dan Joyce, Eric Baker, Scotty Devries) at the Y on Sundays. I moved away in 2007 and lost touch for a period of time. However, I was fortunate to be able to reconnect with Jerrod again late last year and so happy that it happened. He was Detective Carter to my Inspector Lee from our love of all the Rush Hour Movies 😊 My deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with Jerrod'd family and friends. Rest easy, buddy!
