Jerome E.

NYE - Mr. Jerome "Jerry" E. Nye, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2010, he was 75. He will be missed by his four children, Peter J. Nye, M.D., Nancy Nye Snoeyink, Jerome E. Nye, Jr., Christopher C. (Kelly) Nye all of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Lauren and Anna Snoeyink, Margaret, Julia and Natalie Nye; brother, John (Linda) Nye; sisters, Janice (Robert) Predum, Linda (Leo) Vicari; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was born June 4, 1935 in Grand Rapids to John and Beatrice Nye who preceded him in death. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954. Jerry was a salesman with BIC and later with men's clothing lines before changing course and hearing the call of the railroad. Jerry was the life of the party and was loved by all. He developed many friendships later in life as an employee of Goodwill Industries, where he met his very special friend Jan Miller. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW. The family will greet relatives and friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Goodwill Industries.
