Raterink, Jeanette A. Raterink: Jeannette Ada (Ezinga) Raterink, age 89, transformed from this life into the presence of her faithful Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Jeannette was a faithful follower and witness of Jesus Christ, a loving and devoted mother, mentor, counselor, cheerleader, friend and dispenser of WISDOM and HUMOR. She loved SERVING her LORD, her family, friends, church and community. She was a custodian at Dutton Christian Reformed Church and Dutton Christian School. She catered many meals for the church and was owner of Ma & Pa’s Coffee Cup in Cascade from 1965-1977. She worked with CRWRC disaster relief services and the Red Cross from 1980-2000, Jeannette lived and suffered the last years of her life with GRACE and a gentle acceptance keeping the faith and her sense of humor. We thank the aides and staff at Crystal Manor 68th Street for their compassionate care and love for our Mother. We also thank Faith Hospice and their staff for the wonderful care and love for our mother in her last days on earth. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Irene Ezinga, her husband, Benjamin Raterink; children, Rodney and Phyllis Raterink and Joe Kooistra. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Claudene Kooistra, Benjamin and Martha Raterink, Leland and Maryellen Raterink, Judy and Tracy Allen; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; sister, Donna VanderTuin; sisters-in-law, Marie Ezinga, Rita Ezinga and Mary Jean Kruis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive with Rev. Todd Grotenhuis officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to CRWRC disaster relief services, Ideal Park Christian Reformed Church or the Christian school of your choice. Lee, Maryellen and family, So sorry to hear about your mom passing away, but yet rejoicing with you in knowing you will see her again. What a wonderful testimony to her life in the Grand Rapids Press on Sunday. I'm sorry that I cannot make it to the funeral home on Monday.
