Jeanette Veltman

Jeanette (Van’t Hof) Veltman, age 105, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Jeanette graduated from Calvin College in 1940 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She had a great passion for Christian education and went on to teach at several Christian schools in the Grand Rapids area for many years. Jeanette was a kind, generous soul, who often gave her time to the Red Cross to help those affected by natural disasters. The most important thing to Jeanette was her faith and she made sure to pass that faith down to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Veltman; daughter-in-law, Karla Veltman; a baby granddaughter; and five siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donald (Marilyn) Veltman, Ronald (Sandy) Veltman, Harold (Nancy) Veltman, James (Sarah) Veltman; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, January 4, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, January 5, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation or Faith Hospice.
