Jeanette “Jan” Irene Groenendyk, age 83, of Wyoming, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Dekkers and Thelma Bomgaars; and brother, Alfred DeJong. Jan will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 36 years, Rev. Marion Groenendyk; stepchildren, Vern and Barb Groenendyk, Connie and Paul Muller, Wailand and Jean Groenendyk; 20 step grandchildren; 26 step great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Wilma DeJong, Elizabeth DeJong; brother-in-law, Howard Bomgaars; and her special nieces and nephews. A service of Remembrance and Christian Hope will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Eric Van Der Molen and Rev. Casey Freswick officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Crossroads Prison Ministries or Mission India.
