Jean (Oppenhuizen) Persenaire, age 93, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 4, 2015. She was born in Grand Rapids to George and Gertrude Oppenhuizen on March 30, 1922. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cornelius Persenaire; her infant son, Larry; son-in-law, Bruce Sjaarda; brothers, Ed Oppenhuizen, Eng Oppenhuizen, and Hessel Oppenhuizen. She is lovingly remembered by her children; Allan and Jacie Persenaire, Dennis and Tina Persenaire, Lane and Veronica Persenaire, Gwenna Sjaarda, Ardell and Henry Persenaire-Hogeterp; 13 grandchildren, 11great grandchildren; sisters, Agnes VanderMolen, Winneva Vanwynen, Claire Vander Weide; sister-in-law, Kathleen Oppenhuizen; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 11:00 A.M. at Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 7581 12th Avenue, Jenison with Rev. Mark Bennink officiating. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Rehoboth Christian School.

We rejoice and grieve with you at Aunt Jean's homecoming. When we saw her in June, she was so happy to be with her dear sisters, so warm and loving. We have always valued her strong character and her strong faith. God bless all of you as you share memories and trust your mother into God's hands, where she has always been.
