Remembering Jean G Vander Ploeg

Jean G. Vander Ploeg Jean G. Vander Ploeg, age 89, formerly of Grand Rapids, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2015.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Don Vander Ploeg and husband, Rex DeFouw; son, Richard Vander Ploeg; 7 sisters; 1 brother.  She is survived by her children, Dale (Dot) Vander Ploeg, David (Marcia) Vander Ploeg, Donna (Sam) Evans; daughter-in-law, Ruth (Vander Ploeg) and Casey Meyer; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was a loving and gentle mother, grandmother and great grandmother that treasured her family.  She selflessly gave of her time and talents to serve others, her East Leonard Christian Reformed Church family, and above all her Lord. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Rev. Gerry Heyboer officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6-9 pm and Wednesday 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to East Leonard Christian Reformed Church Christian Education Trust Fund or Mended Little Hearts of West Michigan.
