Remembering Janet Yakubowski

Janet E. Yakubowski, age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. At Janet’s request, there will be no services or visitations held.

I have been away from Grand Rapids for way too long. I used to stay the weekends at Aunt Janet's when Uncle Duane passed. I remember the fun times staying there. Aunt Janet is the one who started teaching me to cook. Today I am a Chef for Aunt Janet and Uncle Duane.

Janet was my stepsister we were born 30 days apart. Her mother was Norma and Stepfather Clair Fletcher. The last time I saw her when she was still driving, we talked extensively about the good old days.and about our trip to Wright Patterson AFB Museum with the love of her life Duane. Condolences to the rest of the family.
