Jane Kamminga

Jane (Peterson) Kamminga, age 93, of Jenison, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Jane was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who was a faithful prayer warrior. She was a longtime member of South Grandville Christian Reformed Church where she served with her time and talents in various ways. Jane was a secretary at Grandville Christian School for many years. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner, attending lectures and the January Series at Calvin University for many years. Over the years, she and her husband, Jerry, enjoyed spending winters in Bradenton, Florida, where they established many friendships during their time there. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerald “Jerry” Kamminga; parents, John and Hermina Peterson; siblings, Cecil (Pauline) Peterson, Martha (Ken) Miedema. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Gwen (Kel) Bennink, Laurel (Tom) Bosma, Jana Kamminga (Niki Nicholson); 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Hank) Verkaik; and many loving nieces and nephews. A private burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care West Michigan and Sunset Manor for the love and compassionate care given to Jane.
