Jan Lea (Muusse) VanGilder, age 69, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Early in their marriage, Jan lived with her husband, Dale, who was in the military and stationed in the Philippines and Turkey before they returned to the US to start their family. Despite being diagnosed with MS at a young age, she lived a life full of family events, which she loved to organize, and had an appreciation for creativity and art. While two of her children were in the Hudsonville High School Marching Band, she put her sewing talents to use by creating many of the uniforms. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy and she attended all their school concerts and sporting events. She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 52 years, Dale; children and grandchildren, Tim and Michelle VanGilder, Kristen and Jeremy Neuman (Haylee, Morgan, and Trenton); mother-in-law, Donna VanGilder; brother, Denis and Shelley Muusse; nephews, Calvin, and Cole Muusse. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Barbara Muusse, and her stepmother, Boots Muusse. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.Leave Your Tribute Message

our sincere sympathy to you Dale and the rest of the family with Jan's passing. I remember well working with her with sewing flags for the marching band and all the other band activities that brought us together. She was a great lady, always had a smile on her face and fun to be around.

To all that knew my sister and to those that did not have the pleasure. Jan has been the sweetest, nicest person I’ve know. The tremendous Love in her heart for others and her unselfish approach to living her life caring for others was unmatched. Those that had the opportunity to know her felt her wonderful loving spirt.
I miss you, you were there for us all.
