James R. Topping, age 93, of Jenison, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was in the United States Army Air Corps with the occupation forces in Japan, following World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Topping. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Loretta; son, Russell and Karen Topping; grandchildren and great-grandchild, Aaron and Samantha (Kendal), Alyssa, and Ashley Topping; brother, John and Janice Topping; sister, Nancy Batdorff; sister-in-law, Linda Topping. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dave Brower officiating. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, August 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
