James Walter Taylor, age 61 of Wyoming, died peacefully with family at his side on February 23, 2013. He was born June 9, 1951 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late James and Anne (Holden) Taylor. He worked for the local telephone company most of his life, and formerly worked at the Van Andel Public Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan. James married Linda Sanders (Francen), his best friend and the love of his life on May 7, 2004. He served his Lord through worship, involvement and a Christ-centered life with friends and family at Woodview Christian Church and Resurrection Life Church. James enjoyed his beloved pets Lucy, Bissel and Josie, as well as camping; singing and playing guitar; reading; photography; gardening; cooking; dancing; traveling and spending time outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but remembered with much love. His family includes two daughters of Marguerite Taylor (Murphy), Erin Taylor of Milwaukee, WI, and Bridget Auger of Grandville, MI. After marriage to Linda, he also felt blessed to call her sons, Josh Sanders and Aaron (Emily) Sanders family. He will also be missed by his sister Nancy Taylor and brother Mark (Debbie) Taylor; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Taylor, and joyfully knew they would be waiting when Jesus called him home to Heaven. For those of you who knew James, he was a very kind, optimistic man who devoted himself to his family and his church. Please remember James as a devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend to many. Find comfort in knowing that James is no longer in pain and he has found peace. Although we will miss him terribly each and every day, he will forever remain in our hearts. Online condolences, memories and pictures are welcomed and appreciated. Cremation rites have been honored by Stegenga Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 8 at Woodview Christian Church, 3785 Woodview Avenue SW, Wyoming MI 49509. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service, and a luncheon celebrating James' life will be held immediately following the memorial.
