James Harvey Snell Jr., age 81, of Allendale, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Jim grew up in Grand Haven and retired from ODL. He enjoyed wintering in Florida and working at Disney World with his wife Lois for three years. Jim loved playing pickleball, shuffleboard, and card games with friends. He was also a huge University of Michigan fan. Jim was always fun to be around, and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by parents, James Snell Sr. and Louise Snell; sisters, Patt (Don) Rymarczak, and Sandra Snell. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Lois Snell; children, Denise and Larry Mizell, Jason and Heidi Snell; stepson, Kyle and Keri Rogers; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Mizell, Gabriella Mizell, Delaney Mizell, Darren Rogers, and Dustin Rogers. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 6651 Scott St., Allendale. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
