James “Jim” Schellenberg

James “Jim” Alan Schellenberg, age 64, of Ada, died very unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2020. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Julie Schellenberg; son, Kevin Schellenberg; brother, Larry Schellenberg; sister, Mary (Todd) Weston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julius and Arlene Kuiper; sisters-in-law, Gwynn (Russ) Bult, Gayle (Kim) VanderArk; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Charles Schellenberg; mother, Leona Schellenberg; and sister, Sheryl Struik.  Jim proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Army as a tank specialist and was a decorated marksman. Jim held an associate’s degree in accounting and was a lifelong employee of Remex / Trivalent / Rehmann Corporation as an accountant. Jim changed his life to become an exceptional father and husband. He enjoyed simple pleasures including reading, playing golf and tennis, and walking his dog, Eevee. Jim will be missed beyond words. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, March 13, 2020, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
