James Harold Hagins

James Harold Hagins, age 83 of Byron Center, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Deborah; children, Linda Jordan, Kelly (Mike) Delaney, Brian (Janet) Hagins; seven grandchildren. James proudly served in the US Army. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan.

Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Jim loved his family deeply, and especially the grandchildren. I know Jim will be missed. Wish we could be there to celebrate the wonderful life he lived.

I was one of Jim's caregivers after his car accident in 2013. He used to tease that he was not a very good patient because he wasn't very compliant, but I found him to be a delight to care for. He had a great sense of humor. Deb and Jim had a phenomenal marriage and it was fun to watch them interact. Such a loving household! Their dogs were well loved too. I'm grateful for being a part of their lives for that year. My deepest sympathy to Deb and to Jim's children. I know he will be missed very much.
