James Friar

James Friar, age 93, of Wyoming, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ilau Friar; son, James Brian Friar; daughter, Barbara Leone Friar; first wife, Myrna Lee Friar. Jim leaves behind his daughter, Karla and Mark Nelson; grandchildren, David Silman, Nick Silman, Andrew Smith; great grandchildren; sister, Greta Copple; extended family and many close friends. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fly fishing, even making his own expertly-created flies. He was an expert at growing roses and trees. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, May 23, 2022 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood with Rev. Harry Koops officiating. Burial at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home before the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
