James F. Kautenberg

James Foster Kautenberg, age 69, of Hudsonville was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Jim was a kind and loving husband who deeply loved his family. Because of his journey with diabetes, Jim recycled metal and donated all the proceeds to the American Diabetes Association. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 20 years, Colleen; his step-daughter, Sara and Jeff Hoffman; his step-grandchildren, Ashley Fetterhoff, Hunter Hoffman, Haileigh Hoffman; his sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Jim Kloosterman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Joanne Victory; nephews, Doug Kloosterman, Dan and Robin Kloosterman; great-nephews, Henry and Jeremy Kloosterman. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale), 6651 Scott Street, with Pastor Gary Tallman officiating. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Fair Haven Church or to Walk For A Cure to benefit Juvenile Diabetes. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to caregivers Tony Grandy and Carmen Taylor for the love and compassionate care given to Jim.
