I was a volunteer at sunset and visited with Jim and Ester. Weekly. Always enjoyed my time with them. Jim was a caring and friendly man of God and will be missed prayers for Ester and his kids

We had the privilege of being next door neighbors to Jim and Esther when we moved to Jenison in 2012. We quickly took to one another and became fast friends. I enjoyed our conversations and the time we were able to spend together. Jim was a great man and will be greatly missed.

I didn't know Jim that well. But I got to spend more time with him and his wife, Esther, after his mother had moved in with them in her later years. We’d also greet each other when he and his wife came to church. I first knew of Jim, through weekly visits with his mother, Eunice; Whom I started visiting Dec 2000, when she lived at her apt. I continued to see her up until her death. She was proud of Jim, as she was with all her children and their families. “Jim was a fine Christian man.” “Jim was a good singer”,” She might have said to me more than a few times. And yes, I agree, he was both, and more. He loved to make things in the wood workshop, whether at his house, or later when he lived at Sun Set. I have two items that Jim made. When I look at them or use them, I will always think of Jim and his mother who gave them to me when she had to down size. To all those friends and family members in Heaven who have gone on before you, Say “Hello,” and to those you left behind, “all is well now!” R. I. P. Jim.

Dear Esther...I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to know you well, but Jim was a boyhood friend, as we grew up just a few blocks from each other in Alaska. I'm very sorry he has left us, but we'll see him again whenever the Lord calls. Barb and I offer our sympathy and pray for God's comfort for you and family.
